More Information
William Nicholson shot to prominence with his first novel and the
beginning of the Wind of Fire series. It landed at the time of the hyper-modern
craze for instant collectables. The market can be very volatile with books
falling in value as fast as they rose. The market is driven by three main
factors, small modern print runs, collector panic at not getting a copy and
dealer hype. This series has held steady, the original and well written ones
usually do. As always in this genre very fine or mint copies are a must, if
buying lesser copies be careful not to over pay, the price should collapse for
anything less than a fine copy. Signed first editions are reasonably plentiful,
a well organised publicity campaign and numerous signings have ensured this.
