More Information
William McGonagall was born in 1825 in a very poor area of Edinburgh. He became known, and indeed celebrated, as the author of the world's worst verse! Not all is as it sounds though, the Bard of Dundee was a clever man and wordsmith. True first editions are regarded as rare books and are of collectable value. They are not so expensive as to put them out of reach so a reasonable budget should allow the collector to put together a decent collection of this authors works. For those on a more modest budget or those looking for reading copies, there are a multitude of reprints, later editions and compilations, all available for nominal sums.
If you are looking to buy or sell rare books then our antiquarian booksellers section may be of some assistance.
