VS Pritchett was born in Suffolk, England, on 16th December 1900
and passed away at the age of 96. His father was a travelling salesman so he had
an almost itinerant upbringing, constantly moving. he worked as a journalist
before writing his first novels which initially met with mixed reviews. He did
become more successful later on especially so in America where he seemed to
enjoy greater appreciation. Early titles in jacket are of course rare books and
quite collectable.
