Tom ( Thomas )Wolfe, born 1930, is an American journalist turned
novelist who brought a whole new style to the genre. He remains best known for
his seminal work, The Bonfire of Vanities, which although not his rarest or most
valuable book, is perhaps the most sought after by collectors, due mainly to
being considered a cornerstone book for general collectors of modern first
editions.
Anyone wishing to put together a full collection of first
editions should be able to do so with too lavish a budget. There is also room
for expansion with several signed limited editions in slip-cases and also some
deluxe editions published by the Franklin Library. ( Wolf )
