More Information
Tom Sharp was born in Sussex in 1928. After university he did his
National Service before moving to South Africa, where he worked as a
photographer, teacher and social worker. Returning to England he became a
lecturer at Cambridge. He was still trying his hand at writing but without any
success. That all changed when he decided to write a comedic novel based on his
South African experiences. The result lead to a highly successful series of
novels that have sold millions of copies worldwide. As well as readers Sharpe
has also caught the attention of collectors and his first few books are highly
sought after. The later titles are by now means rare but the early ones are not
common in fine condition.
