More Information
Thomas Hughes was born on 29th October 1822 in Berkshire England
part of a large family. After attending a private school he went to Rugby which
was to provide the background and inspiration for his most famous work Tom
Brown's Schooldays. On leaving education he practised law and was still doing so
when he wrote his first book. The book was an immediate success and has enjoyed
continued success never having been out of print. All of the authors work is
collectable though his first book is of course the most sought after and
valuable. Thomas Hughes passed away in 1896 and whilst his other work may not be
the most sparkling he did produce an undeniable classic of literary work.
