Terence Rattigan was born in London on 10th June 1911. Due to his
parents frequent trips abroad he was brought up mainly by his grandmother and
was already immersed in theatre life. Educated at Harrow and Trinity College
Oxford. Early initial success whilst still at Oxford lead Rattigan to leave
early to pursue a career as a playwright. His best known work is probably the
Winslow Boy though many of his other plays are still performed in the West End
on a regular basis. He passed away in 1977.
