Vivienne Michel is credited as a joint author, she was in fact simply the wife
of Fleming's golfing partner. Cape produced 30,000 copies, a reduction on the
previous run caused no doubt by first editions of Thunderball still being
available. Copies do exist with a quad mark between the E and the M of Fleming
on the title page. This is simply a printers spacing slug which must have worked
loose during the print run and is of no bibliographical significance. It is much
scarcer than copies without so consequently is more valued by collectors.
