Rose Macaulay, born 1881 and died 1958, she had an Oxbridge
upbringing and education and was later to become a Dame. Her work is well
respected, intelligent and humorous. The English editions were published prior
to the American. Early titles are not common, though not as valuable as one
would expect. Several of them were not published in the States and any
alternative titles have been noted
