More Information
Robert Harris, born 1953, is an international best-selling author
despite, or perhaps because of, a canon of only four novels to date. The quality
of the writing, the research and the structure are what sets them apart. There
has also been success at the box office, Enigma was superbly adapted for film
and featured Dougray Scott and Kate Winslet. The first novel, Fatherland, was
also filmed and deals with the subject of what would have happened had Hitler
won the war and taken over Britain. Needless to say, collectors were not slow to
show an interest and the first novel soon became something of a cornerstone
title. Whilst not exactly rare it is not easy to find in fine condition and is,
by far, the most valuable of his works. First editions of later titles are
relatively easy to find and only fine copies in fine dust jackets should really
be considered. Serious collectors may want to only consider signed copies as
they can be located.
