Richard Adams was born in Berkshire in 1920 and educated at
Worcester College Oxford. He served five years in the army before entering the
civil service. He is, of course, best known for Watership Down which was
published in several editions, included illustrated and signed limited editions.
The Girl in a Swing was withdrawn due to concerns of libel, in re the characters
name. This was duly changed from Kathe Geutner to Karin Forster.
