Raymond Carver, born 1938 and died 1988, was a respected American
writer of short stories and verse. His early life was somewhat turbulent. There
were problems with alcohol, as there was with his father, he also married his
sixteen year old girlfriend when she became pregnant. It was not until a move to
California that he went to college and studied literature etc that he began to
write. Hi subsequent work has appeared al over the world. His work is sought by
collectors, though it is mainly the American editions and the limited editions.
The most valuable, as ever, is his first work , Near Klamath. All of the 1st
edition books listed in this bibliography are of some collectable value
