More Information
PL Travers was born in Australia on 9th August 1899 and whilst at
boarding school began writing and producing school plays. On leaving school she
became a journalist before leaving Australia for England in 1924. The series she
is best known for was an immediate success with an enduring public appeal. That
continues today, due largely to the film of course. Whilst the general public
would now be more familiar with the film than the books today, they do remain
desirable items amongst book collectors. The first two books are regarded as
rare in first edition state with dust wrapper. Later titles are, of course,
somewhat easier to locate. If you are looking to buy or sell books then our
antiquarian book dealers section may be of some assistance. |
