Sir Osbert Lancaster was a hugely popular illustrator in his
time. His name is well known and respected today. The nature of some of his work
is such that being based on current affairs, it cannot help but become out
dated. That said, unlike many of his contemporaries, his work does have
something of a 'classic' almost timeless feel to it. His work, is of course,
collectable though none of books are hugely expensive. Many of his books can be
picked up in 1st edition status and complete with dust jacket for very
reasonable prices indeed.
