More Information
Norman Douglas was born on 8 December 1868 in Austria. He spent some time there until moving to Scotland when his mother remarried. His early education was in England until he moved to Germany to study science and geology. He was, and still is, a well respected and very successful author though sadly today little of his work remains in print. He lived out his remaining years in his beloved Capri where he died in 1952.
