Maya Angelou, born 1928 is hugely talented, she is an actress, poet, historian, producer, director and author to name but a few of her achievements. Her first book, an autobiography, is the most valuable, the other books are relatively reasonable in 1st edition state and relatively easy to locate. English editions have a somewhat chequered history with the early titles being released years after their American counterparts. The fact that many are also paperback originals limits their value in terms of collectability. Her work is gaining in popularity, her autobiographies are all international bestsellers now, and is starting to attract collectors who appreciate the quality of her work. The books are, at the time of writing, generally available at reasonable prices, how long this remains the case is another matter.
