Lord Berners, born 18 September 1883, who as well as being a
writer was something of an eccentric who lead a remarkable life. The books are
very collectable and do attract considerable prices, especially so the hardbacks
in their dustwrappers. The two books in soft wrappers are notoriously fragile,
very few survived and those that did are seldom found in particularly nice
condition. Signed and autograph material is also highly sought after and does
attract a considerable premium. His life is well worth delving into and of great
interest, for anyone interested we would recommend reading The Last Eccentric
by Mark Amory (1998 Chatto & Windus) .
