ALTHER, Lisa (1944) American novelist who achieved great success with her first book, Kinflicks, partly because it was thought to be part of the current vogue for semi-confessional writing by women. In fact the book has more in common with
J D Salinger's Catcher In The Rye than Erica Jong's Fear of Flying.
