More Information
Lionel Davidson was born in Hull, England, 31 March 1922 and
served in the Royal Navy. His career as an author was fairly short though in
that time he did produce some superb work. His quality of writing and depth of
characters far exceeds many in the crime fiction genre. He has been recognised
by his fellows in winning numerous awards including the coveted Gold Dagger. His
work is without doubt deserving of a wider audience today amongst readers.
Collectors are aware of his work however and his books are collectable, fine
copies of the first two titles are considered rare books.
