Jonathan Raban, born 1942, started his writing career with
academic works, later writing novels. It is for his work as a travel writer for
which is best known though. His reputation is considerable amongst critics and
readers, consequently the attention of collectors is sure to follow. At the time
of writing, his books do represent excellent value for money and the
accumulation of a complete set of 1st editions is entirely possible on a modest
budget.
