More Information
John Masters, born 26 October 1914 in Calcutta India, was without doubt a product of the British Empire, as was. These influences and experiences can be found throughout his work. As well as being entertaining and best selling novels they also showed a great deal of insight in regard to the characters and native people. The books though not as well known amongst readers as perhaps they once were, are still desired by collectors. The advent of the internet and greater access to books has reduced their value a little but they are worth something, unlike many books today! It is not too ambitious a thought to put together a full set of 1st editions in dust jackets, with many of the jackets showing great designs they would also make an attractive set.
