John Grisham, born 1955, has become one of the world's most successful modern novelists. His books sell in huge numbers worldwide, add to that the number of successful film adaptations one can begin to understand the magnitude of this modern phenomenon. As well as popularity amongst readers, there is also quite a following from first edition collectors. Enthusiasts have been well catered for, apart from the first book, all the American novels saw a deluxe signed limited edition published, complete with slip-case. The limited runs tend to be between 350 and 500 copies. These copies are very collectable and sought after by serious collectors. The success of the author has meant large print runs for 1st editions which naturally impacts on the trade issue values. American editions precede the British in all cases. The first book is, by far, the most valuable. There is a 1993 edition by Doubleday that incorrectly states 'First Edition'.
