More Information
Joe Orton, born 1933 to 1967, is best known for his dark, crude
but superbly comic dialogue. His books were first released in England with
several titles seeing no American publication. He is an author who is deemed
collectable today. There has been something a reputation built around the man,
something which his somewhat dramatic ending did much to increase. The earlier
titles are now quite valuable, and indeed sought after. The first one is, as so
often, the most valuable. The fact that the American edition was a paperback
original has also enhanced the desirability of the English hardcover first.
