Joan Grant was born on 12th April 1907 and from a young age
always expressed feelings of having had past lives. She was being tutored for a
scientific career along the lines of her father but it was not to be. She
married a poorly paid barrister and tried her hand a writing for the first time
though it came to nothing. Her husband became an archaeologist which took her to
Egypt, the experiences and feelings led to her first and most important work,
Winged Pharaoh. The book was a huge and immediate success despite the fact the
author had not intended to publish it. After a remarkable life she passed away
in 1989 aged 81.
