More Information
Gustave Flaubert, born 12 December 1821 to 1880, is the legendary
author of Madame Bovary, regarded by many as one of the greatest novels ever
written. The books were first printed in France and subsequently translated into
English. All of the main titles have been continually reissued and reset, some
illustrated and with different introductions. These later editions provide quite
a break for collectors. Anybody wishing to collect the 1st editions would need a
budget that stretches past most collectors. Classic books like these do attract
big price tickets. The Later issues are a very attractive proposition, both
financially and visually, many have superb pictorial bindings.
