Gerald Durrell, born 1925 to 1995, was the brother of Lawrence.
Gerald wrote mainly travel and natural history books. His work has always
enjoyed a popular following. The books are also reasonably collectable. Early
first editions in original dust jackets fetch reasonable sums, but by now means
prohibitive for the dedicated collector. Later titles are relatively easy to
source and need not be overly expensive. English editions precede their American
counterparts in all cases, with several seeing no American release at all.
