More Information
Eric Newby, born in London in 1919, is generally considered to be one of the finest of modern travel writers, certainly one of the most popular. Unsurprisingly, this has lead to interest from collectors. The books listed in this bibliography are of collectable interest, the earlier more so. Prices are, at the time of writing, not prohibitive for those on a reasonable budget and a full set of 1st editions in original dust jackets is not an unrealistic ambition. It is quite possible to get some of the later titles signed, something the serious collector may want to consider given the relative commonness of the post 1980 titles.
