Enid Blyton wrote a staggering 700+ books and still
today sells over 2 million books a year. Her most popular series, both then and
now, was the Famous Five who were introduced in 1942. The adventures sold in
huge numbers leading to the formation of the Famous Five Club which still exists
today. The series is still in print today but the first editions are some of the
most sought after children's books. Early titles in dust jacket are rare and are
consequently expensive. Generally speaking there are no issue points with the
books, later editions are clearly stated. Care has to be taken with dustwrappers
though, you should always check to ensure that there are no later titles stated
as sometimes reprint jackets mysteriously appear on first edition books !
