EM Forster was born in London on 1st January 1879 he was educated
at public school before going to Cambridge were he finally met similar minded
people, some of whom were part of what was later to be known as the Bloomsbury
Group. An inheritance gave the author financial freedom to pursue his interests,
namely writing and travel. These experiences gave birth to 3 classic novels for
which he is best known, A Room with a View, Howard's End and A
Passage to India. His reputation and stature have continued to grow since
his death in 1970 at the age of 91. His books are highly collectable with India
being regarded as a cornerstone title for any modern first edition collection.
