Eleanor Porter was born in New Hampshire in 1868 and suffered
with poor health throughout her life. She began writing at an early age and
eventually won a scholarship. The breakthrough came with Pollyanna which sold in
huge numbers and is a very collectable book today. The bibliography is in the
order of original publication in the US. The author died in 1920.
