EB White, Elwyn Brooks, was born in New York on 11th July 1899 and was the author of Charlotte's Web, described as the best children's book published in the US since 1776! He also created the character Stuart Little was was brought to the big screen in a highly successful film featuring both actors and animated figures. His books sold, and continue to sell, in huge numbers assuring his place in children's literature. The author passed away in 1985 aged eighty-six.
