Brian Jacques is best known for his fabulous series which became
very collectable very quickly. He was part of the first wave of ultra-modern
collectable first editions which took off in the late 1980s early 1990s. The
first book did reach quite a value at one point but has since fallen back to
more sensible and realistic levels. This does show the potential danger of
buying books at the top of a possibly hyped market. At the time of writing the
books have settled and all those included in this bibliography are of
collectable interest and because they are so popular and well written would
appear to be a good bet for the future. Collectors should be aware that many of
the later books have a printers key, or number line, when it is present the
number 1 should always be present, if not then it is a reprint and not really of
collectable interest.
