More Information
Barry Unsworth is not as widely known as perhaps he ought to be.
His novel, Sacred Hunger was joint winner of the Booker Prize in 1992
though this still did not bring him the widespread recognition his work
deserves. Those familiar with his work cherish it, as do collectors who actively
seek his first editions. As usual it is the early work which attracts the most
interest. The first four books being the rarest, Sacred Hunger also attracts a
premium price due to the Booker win.
