More Information
Barbara Pym, born 1913 and died 1980, was an English novelist
whose work was firmly set in her home country, villages and churches etc,
quintessentially English. The UK editions precede their US counterparts in all
cases. The American catalogue is somewhat chaotic with book being issued out of
sequence. All of the Cape 1st editions are of value and sought after by
collectors, naturally condition and presence of dust jacket is critical. The
Macmillan editions are relatively common so worth a great deal less, as are all
the US editions.
