Anita Brookner, born 1928, won the Booker Prize for her novel Hotel Du Lac. She is highly regarded for her outstanding work, in particular her portrayal of women and their relationships. She is obviously collectable with, at the time of writing, steadily increasing prices. That said they are still well within reach of anyone with a reasonable budget. English editions precede their American counterparts and are of greater value to collectors. Many of the later titles had fairly considerable print runs so are far from rare. That being the case collectors should consider only fine copies ideally and the more committed may want to seek out signed copies.
