Angela Thirkell, born 1890, was the author of the best-selling,
and ever popular, Barsetshire series of novels. It was a long running and
extremely popular series spanning nearly thirty years. The books remain a
favourite amongst collectors today with early titles in their original dust
jackets fetching relatively high prices. Later titles should not pose too much
of a difficulty, or indeed to much expense, in their acquisition. The pre 1942
titles however are more difficult with some being genuinely rare books in dust
wrappers.
